newborn
I'm Andrea — your Destin newborn photographer, welcoming families into my cozy Niceville studio for over a decade. Every session is gentle, unhurried, and completely guided.
Those tiny features, the soft sighs, the way they curl into you — these moments pass faster than you can imagine. Let's preserve them before they do.
Let me capture all the tiny features for you, so you won't forget!
Timeless, heartfelt newborn sessions, thoughtfully crafted into artwork for your walls.
When you're welcoming a new baby, the last thing you want is to drive hours for a photography session. As your local Destin newborn photographer, I understand the challenges of those early weeks: sleepless nights, feeding schedules, and adjusting to life with your little one. My studio is just minutes from Destin in Niceville, making it easy for families throughout the Emerald Coast to access beautiful, professional newborn portraits without the stress of a long drive. My Destin, FL newborn photography sessions are designed around your baby's comfort and your family's unique story.
I'm trained in newborn safety through AANPS (Accredited Association of Newborn Safety Photographers), which means I know how to properly support and position your baby throughout the session. Your baby's comfort and safety always come first.
Beyond technical skills, I've photographed hundreds of newborns over the years, so I know how to work with their natural rhythms. I know when to pause for feeding, when to soothe, and how to capture those fleeting moments of peace and connection that make newborn photography so special.
From the moment you arrive, every detail is taken care of — including a curated client closet filled with gowns, wraps, and accessories for you and your family. And when your session is complete, I guide you through designing heirloom artwork for your home, from framed wall portraits to fine art albums. This is more than a photo session — it's a full experience from first hello to finished artwork.
I keep my studio warm and cozy for your baby's comfort. The temperature, the lighting, the pacing: everything is designed around what your newborn needs. I move slowly and gently through each setup, and I never force a pose. If your baby isn't comfortable, we simply try something else. Your baby's safety is always my top priority, which is why I'm trained through AANPS in proper newborn positioning and handling.
I focus on capturing those tiny details that disappear so quickly: the sweet rolls on their thighs and back, their perfect little toes, the way their entire hand wraps around just one of your fingers. These are the moments that make newborn photography so precious. I'll guide you through everything so you can simply relax and enjoy this time with your baby while I create the portraits that will become your family's heirlooms.

A morning well spent with this sweet Family.
This beautiful family booked their second membership with me, and it is always so heartwarming as a Destin newborn photographer to capture their firstborn with the new baby.

In-home
Photographing the whole family during a newborn in-home session is my favorite part of a newborn in-home session. This little darling was awake during most of the newborn family part of the session. My clients don't have to keep their baby awake before their session, because we embrace the baby's awake time to capture the connection between parents and their new baby.

What a beautiful newborn photo session we had on this sunny morning. This sweet couple booked a membership with me, and I am so happy they chose me as their Destin newborn photographer. This mommy chose a simple but sweet dress from the client's closet for this timeless newborn session.

Bringing home a newborn is a lot. The last thing you need is one more thing to figure out. So I make sure you don't have to.
About two weeks before your session, we sit down together — virtually, from your couch, baby in arms — and walk through everything. Wardrobe for the whole family, what to expect on session day, how long it typically takes, and what happens if the baby has other plans. Nothing is left to guess.
My client's closet includes gowns for mom and coordinating pieces for the family, so you're not scrambling for outfits in those exhausted early weeks. I'll help you choose what will photograph beautifully and feel comfortable on a postpartum body — because both matter.
By session day, you just need to show up. I'll handle everything else.
I photograph newborns within their first two weeks when they're still naturally curly, sleepy, and flexible—just like they were in the womb. I recommend booking your session while you're still pregnant so I can reserve a spot on my calendar around your due date. Once your baby arrives, we'll confirm the exact timing. If your baby comes early or late, don't worry. I always build flexibility into my schedule for these sweet surprises.
Safety is my absolute top priority. I'm trained in newborn safety through AANPS (Accredited Association of Newborn Safety Photographers), which means I know how to properly support your baby during every pose. The studio is kept warm and cozy for your newborn's comfort, and I never force a pose. If your baby isn't comfortable, we simply move on to something else. Your baby's wellbeing always comes before getting "the shot."
Newborns communicate their needs, and I'm experienced working with them! We'll take breaks as needed for feeding, comforting, or simply letting your baby wake up a bit. Some of the sweetest portraits happen when babies are awake and alert. There's no rush. Newborn sessions move at your baby's pace, and I've never had a session where we couldn't create beautiful portraits. Trust me, I've soothed hundreds of newborns.
You don't need to bring anything unless you'd like to include a special family heirloom or meaningful item in your portraits. I provide everything you'll need: soft wraps, blankets, headbands, bonnets, and neutral outfits for parents. My studio closet includes coordinating pieces so your family looks beautifully unified in your portraits. Just bring yourself, your baby, and maybe an extra bottle or pacifier if you're using one. I'll take care of the rest.
Plan for about 2-3 hours at the studio. This might sound long, but newborn sessions move at your baby's pace. We'll take breaks for feeding, diaper changes, and soothing as needed. There's absolutely no rush. I want both you and your baby to feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the session. Some babies sleep the entire time, while others need a little extra patience, and that's completely normal. I've never had a session where we couldn't create beautiful portraits, so trust the process and let me handle the timing.
Absolutely! I love photographing siblings with their new baby brother or sister. Those sweet moments between big siblings and the newborn are so precious, and I'll gently guide everyone through poses that feel natural and comfortable. My studio space works beautifully for immediate family portraits with parents and siblings together.
While I recommend scheduling within the first two weeks when babies are naturally sleepier and more flexible, I'm still happy to photograph your baby if they're a bit older. The session might look a little different. We may capture more awake, alert portraits rather than the curled-up, sleepy poses, but we'll still create beautiful images. Every baby is different, and I'll work with where your little one is developmentally to create portraits you'll treasure.
Yes! While most of my newborn sessions take place in my Niceville studio where I have all my props, lighting, and wardrobe ready, I also offer lifestyle newborn sessions in your home. In-home sessions have a more documentary feel. I'll photograph your family in your nursery, on your bed, and in the natural spaces where you're bonding with your baby. These sessions work beautifully if you prefer a more relaxed, storytelling approach or if traveling to the studio feels overwhelming in those first weeks.
"I cannot give Andrea enough compliments. Firstly, she is incredibly personable. Her studio is warm and inviting. At our first meeting, I felt so comfortable and fell easily in conversation with her. She also got my husband to feel comfortable in front of a camera....
... Andrea is a one stop shop. When I was expecting, I was so overwhelmed with information and choices. Andrea gives choices, but each package is unique. That made choosing a package & location much easier for me. She also has a BEAUTIFUL wardrobe of dresses. She has photographed theses dresses, so you can feel confident the dress will photograph well. That was a relief for me."

"My husband & I went to Andrea when I had my son in June. Even through the pandemic she was very accommodating! She is by far my favorite photographer I’ve ever used! It was well worth the price. We will def be going back as soon as our new addition gets a little older. Thank you for the memories Andrea!!"

"Andrea is not only an amazing photographer, but just a genuinely sweet person and fabulous to work with. She made all of my baby girl’s newborn photo session dreams come true and then some! Her wardrobe selection is gorgeous and has choices for the whole family. Such a lifesaver! She also had a little kitchen for my toddler boys to play with while sissy was getting her pictures. Not to mention the album and end products were stunning. I could go on and on!"

"We first used Andrea for our maternity and newborn pictures. She is the ultimate professional and so easy to get along with. Our maternity pictures were better than I could’ve imagined. She captured the most precious pictures of our baby boy after he was born, and he was calm and happy during the whole session. I would recommend Andrea to anyone wanting quality, timeless photos. We have since used her for family pics, a motherhood session, and our son’s one-year cake smash session. The pictures from these sessions are ones I will treasure forever. I’m so thankful I found Andrea to give me these gorgeous photos."

Timeless studio portraits focused solely on your child. My Heirloom Portrait sessions create classic, vignette-style artwork that becomes family heirlooms.
Destin newborn photography sessions are best scheduled before your baby arrives — I recommend photographing your little one within their first two weeks, when they're still naturally curly and sleepy. During your session in my cozy Niceville studio, I'll gently guide your newborn through poses while you relax and enjoy these precious moments. About two weeks later, we'll meet for your design appointment, where you'll see your beautifully edited gallery and choose the perfect pieces for your walls.
Many of my families love starting with a maternity session first — it's a beautiful way to document the weeks before baby arrives.
