Storkland Pensacola: The Best Baby Gear Store for Destin Families

Storkland Pensacola is the baby gear destination that Emerald Coast families have been driving to for decades — and for good reason. If you’re expecting, you’ve probably already discovered one of its best-kept secrets: when it comes to serious baby shopping, our area is surprisingly thin. The local boutiques are wonderful for clothing and gifts, but when you need a crib, a stroller, a glider, or nursery furniture? There’s really only one answer, and it involves a drive.

Most of my Destin clients end up making the trip to Pensacola — and Storkland is exactly why.

What Makes Storkland Worth the Drive

Storkland at 8585 N Davis Hwy has been locally owned and operated since 1984, and it’s the kind of specialty baby store the Emerald Coast simply doesn’t have. We’re talking furniture, cribs, bedding, nursery decor, gliders, car seats, strollers, clothing, and monogramming — all under one roof, with staff who actually know their products.

One recent reviewer described it as a “massive selection of baby stuff — nothing like it in the area,” and noted the staff was patient and helpful walking through all the options for a first-time parent. That kind of personalized service is hard to find, and it makes a real difference when you’re making big purchases for the first time.

They also offer lay-away, which is a nice option when you’re furnishing an entire nursery at once.

Plan Your Visit Around Their Hours

This is important: Storkland keeps limited hours, so plan ahead before making the drive.

  • Tuesday: 10am – 2pm
  • Wednesday: 10am – 2pm
  • Thursday: Closed
  • Friday: 10am – 2pm
  • Saturday: 10am – 2pm
  • Sunday & Monday: Closed

Give them a call at (850) 478-2633 before you go, especially if you’re planning to look at furniture or larger items — you’ll want enough time to browse properly.

Make a Full Day of It

Since you’re already making the trip to Storkland Pensacola, it’s worth planning the whole day around it. Cordova Mall is just a few minutes away and has Dillard’s and Belk, both of which carry maternity clothing and dresses — perfect if you’re also building out your maternity wardrobe before your session.

Many of my clients combine the Storkland run with a maternity shopping stop in the same trip.If you’re looking for maternity outfit inspiration specifically, I put together a full guide to maternity stores in Pensacola that walks through the best options.

Setting Up Your Baby Registry

If you’re in the process of building a registry, Storkland Pensacola is one of the few places in our region where you can actually see and touch the bigger items — strollers side by side, gliders you can sit in, cribs you can evaluate in person. That matters. It’s very different from ordering furniture online without seeing it first.

I always recommend bringing your partner for this trip. Testing a stroller together, sitting in a glider to feel how it rocks, opening and closing a crib — these are decisions that are so much easier to make when you’re both there experiencing the product rather than scrolling through reviews at home. Give yourself at least an hour to browse without rushing, and don’t hesitate to ask the staff questions. They’ve been doing this since 1984 and genuinely know their products.

Parking is easy — there’s plenty of space right in front of the store, so no stress there. Just remember to plan around their limited hours so you’re not making the drive for nothing.
