Photographers in Miramar Beach Florida fill up fast during the summer, and when Mary reached out about a June sunset session, I could already picture exactly how beautiful it was going to be. It was her family’s very first professional session together, her, her husband, and their little boy, and she wanted photographs to hold onto long after the vacation was over.
From the very beginning, Mary put so much care into this session. She booked hair and makeup with my favorite artist, Stacy Alderson, and came into the studio that morning with so much excitement. We spent time together finalizing their outfits before heading out, which is something I love doing because it means one less thing to worry about when you’re standing on the beach. Mary had even been texting back and forth about her little boy’s shirt, a soft striped linen button-down that was absolutely perfect. That kind of intentionality always shows in the final photographs.

The day didn’t come without its challenges. The weather had other plans for us, and there was a moment where it could have gone either way. But we stuck to the plan, and I’m so glad we did. We photographed together on a Destin beach just a short drive from Miramar Beach, right at that golden hour when the light goes soft and everything glows. Those late June evenings along the Emerald Coast are something truly special. The sky turns the most gorgeous shades of peach and gold, the waves settle into a gentle rhythm, and it becomes almost effortless to capture real, candid moments between a family who loves each other.

One of the things I hear most often from families after their session is that it felt nothing like what they expected, in the best way. Before we ever step foot on the sand, I schedule a planning call so I can understand your vision, learn about your family’s personality, and help you feel excited rather than anxious about photographing together. After their session, Mary sent the sweetest message saying they hadn’t stopped talking about the experience and couldn’t wait to see the photographs. That kind of response is everything to me.
I also offer a client closet for any family photographing with me, so wardrobe is one less thing to stress about. From flowy beach dresses to coordinated outfits for the little ones, I want you to feel your absolute best when we meet.
And when it comes to your little one, toddlers, wiggly kids, the ones who say they won’t cooperate, I promise some of the sweetest photographs happen when kids are just being themselves. That four-year-old energy is exactly what makes family photographs feel alive and real.

“I wish I could give Andrea 100 stars! She is incredibly talented and will give you an experience you’ll remember forever. My family and I did a beach session with her at the end of June and the photos are stunning! She takes the time to meet with you prior to the session to understand what your vision is and then she expertly plans it all out. She has an amazing client closet so you do not have to stress about the wardrobe. I highly recommend Andrea to anyone that wants beautiful, light and airy photos that you will cherish for a lifetime.”
I am so grateful for reviews like this one. It means everything to know that a family’s experience felt as beautiful as the photographs we created together.

Sunset sessions along the Emerald Coast are available throughout the year, but summer evenings book quickly — especially June and July when visiting families are in town. I photograph on the beaches of Destin and the surrounding areas, including Fort Walton Beach, and at Grayton Beach. If you’re staying in Miramar Beach and wondering where to meet, I’ll suggest the perfect spot based on your dates and the light.
